My evening was nice & relaxing, despite all the initial stress. I tried to find something festive-ey to watch on tv, but I couldn't seem to find a countdown-to-12 show anywhere - if one was even on! So I watched more Bones S1, and luckily the first episode was an xmas ep, so it was in the right region of festivities... *g*

And I did manage to stay up 'til midnight in the end - thanks to the comfort recs people gave me over on [livejournal.com profile] sgagenrefinders. ♥

Today I got up at 8:30 and read some more of the book my dissertation supervisor lent me, whilst eating my cereal. Got ready for 10 and walked in to work. It was pissing it down all day, but thanks to the new umbrella I asked for for xmas I managed to stay relatively dry.

Got in at 10:30 and Chris was upstairs getting the labels ready for tomorrow's shift. He stayed in last night as well, but then again he's got a wife & two kids, so I'm not sure if that makes me seem any less pathetic. :s

Anyway, he left at 11, but then came back half an hour later with some more supplies for the shop, and more tasks for me to do. So the speed I was doing things at was no longer quick enough!

After that I speeded through things, hoping I'd finish on time, and then I dropped a whole tray of bacon on the floor! -_- So not good.

Was such a waste, and then I had to clean up the floor, the side of fridge, under the fridge, under the grills, the wall behind grills - everywhere that got splattered by the hot fat!

Then when I'd finished everything for the day I was putting the mop & bucket back downstairs and saw the downstairs sink was blocked and overflowing - so then I had to quickly get some water out and put it down the sink in the bathroom instead, and then try to unblock it with a weird plunger thing. Managed to get it down a bit, but it was still blocked up, and I just left it! Wrote a note warning tomorrow's crew about it, but I didn't know what to do about it so I just left it and walked home, already half an hour past when I should have left. :/

I'm back on my normal shift again this weekend though, so it'll be less confusing for me and I should be able to get back into a routine of how much time everything takes.

Oops, I'd better go and put my jacket potato in quickly - knowing how bad I am at cooking them it'll probably need over an hour!
